LOCATION
The Forest District Nowa Sól is located in the west part of Poland, on the border of Lubusz Land (Ziemia Lubuska) and Lower Silesia ; in the south-eastern part of RDLP in Zielona Góra. It shares its land borders with the Forest District Zielona Góra to the north – west, with the Forest District Przytok to the north, with the Forest District Sława Śląska to the south – east, with the Forest District Głogów ( RDLP Wroclaw) to the south – east, with The Forest District Szprotawa to the south and with the Forest District Krzystkowice to the west.
Lands of the Forest District Nowa Sól are located within the area of Lubuskie Province in the district of Nowa Sól, namely in communes such as: Nowa Sól, Bytom Odrzański, Kożuchów, Nowe Miasteczko, Otyń, Siedlisko, and in such towns as: Nowa Sól and Kożuchów, in the district of Zielona Góra, in communes such as: Nowogród Bobrzański, Świdnica and Zielona Góra, in the district of Żagań in Brzeźnica commune and finally, in the district of Wschowa in Sława commune.
The Forest District is composed of three forest districts, namely:
- Przyborów - 7 928,86 ha
- Kożuchów - 10 407,61 ha
- Niwiska - 6 007,48 ha
- In total - 24 343,95 ha
At presentthe Forest District Nowa Sól is divided into tree forest sub-districts and thirteen forest rangers areas :
● The Forest Sub-District Przyborów:
1. The Forest Ranger Area Przyborów,
2. The Forest Ranger Area Odra,
3. The Forest Ranger Area Siedlisko,
4. The Forest Ranger Area Stany.
● The Forest Sub-District Kożuchów:
1. The Forest Ranger Area Kiełcz,
2. The Forest Range Area Książ,
3. The Forest Ranger Area Mirocin,
4. The Forest Ranger Area Nowa Sól,
5. The Forest Ranger Area Solniki,
6. The Forest Ranger Area Tarnów.
● The Forest Sub-District Niwiska:
1. The Forest Ranger Area Niwiska,
2. The Forest Ranger Area Jarogniewice,
3. The Forest Ranger Area Przylaski.
- Tree nursery Przyborów,
- Seed Extraction Plant in Siedlisko.
Within the range of functioning the Forest District, there are many environmental objects of supra-regional significance such as Odra oxbow lakes, riparian forests, as well as the thickest European White Elm (ulmus leavis) in State Forests.
Within the area of the Forest District Nowa Sól, in the village Przyborów, there is another place of takes off and landings, which are used for fire extinguishing and other rescue operations.
